Infants: Birth - 1 YearInfants thrive in our nurturing environment! You want the place where your child is cared for to be as trusted and as much like home as possible. We want to make this first transition as seamless as possible, for you AND your infant! We take our cues from your baby, and use playtime and age-appropriate activities to help them learn about their world. EEC Inc. treats every child as a unique individual, and offers a great beginning for life-long learning! Pre-Toddlers: 1-2 YearsA Pre-Toddler is a child who is becoming more mobile and needs lots of space to move around! What teachers call 'developing gross and fine motor skills', the children see as having fun with finger paints, diving into balls of play-doh, and creating orignal art-work with colored markers and crayons. Story-time and singing songs help Pre-Toddlers build vocabulary and language skills. Even at this young age, they learn to socialize and make friends. How? By indoor and outdoor playtime, sitting down at a table to eat, and helping clean up. The activities sound so basic. But the lessons learned here will stay with them. Toddlers: 2-3 YearsThis is an exciting time for our youngsters! They are learning to socialize with the other children. They learn important things, like how to share, how to wait their turn and how to express themselves! They are very curious about the world around them, and are so excited by things, even something as simple as a leaf, an acorn, a snowflake. They learn very quickly at this stage, and enjoy reading, singing, painting and outdoor playtime. EEC Inc. offers your Toddler a wonderful place to learn and grow! Pre-School: 3-4 YearsThe children in the Pre-School classes experience their world so energetically! They are developing their own sense of self, and have already made friends among the other children. They actively participate in structured activities, learn to play games, and enjoy story-time. Their senses are inundated by vibrant colors, a plethora of shapes, exciting textures and interesting sounds. The activities their teachers engage them in will answer many of their questions, and encourage them to find the answers to others! Their individuality is celebrated and respected at EEC Inc! Pre-Kindergarten: 4-5 YearsThe Pre-Kindergarten classes offer an exceptional learning opportunity. The children have a chance to function as a group, learning to balance between expressing themselves and following directions. Their curiosity is nurtured by their teachers, and they look forward with eager anticipation at each learning opportunity. The Pre-K class is encouraged to express themselves, and to become independent thinkers by asking questions when they need direction. They learn to communicate with people in their environments -- teachers, the other children, their parents and siblings, to name a few! Kindergarten: 4-5 YearsThe Kindergarten Program is focused on the academic development of our children through learning centers and play. Our curriculum is geared to developing the child's social, emotional, physical, creative and educational skills. We use one- to two-week units that focus on a specific subject such as Delaware, frogs, pumpkin math and rainforests, as well as new units developed throughout the year. Math and reading skills are also developed throughout the year. Center activities of writing, art, dramatic play, book and sensory related to the units enrich the curriculum. Throughout the week, we will also have science, music, cooking and large motor activities. We feel that our children are well prepared for the challenges of first grade. After SchoolOur After-School Program (ASP) is for children in Kindergarten through 6th grade who need care after school (3 pm - 5:45 pm), during school holidays (7 am - 5:45 pm), and on snow days. EEC Inc does not provide transportation, so transportation to and from EEC Inc is the reponsibility of the parents. The EEC Staff will be available to meet the bus for the Kindergartners through 3rd graders. Fourth through sixth graders will enter the building independently. Once children arrive, they will have a snack and be given time to work on homework and age-appropriate activities. The ASP children have their own classroom and their own teacher from 3 pm to 5:30 pm. At 5:30 pm, the children are escorted to the late room and signed in. During school holidays or snow days when ASP children attend EEC all day, they will be assigned a classroom for the morning as helpers. SummerThink of summer as "down time"? Not at EEC Inc! All our programs continue throughout Summer, so EEC bustles with activity. Plenty of things to do, age-appropriate projects to participate in, things to experience, fun to be had! We use creativity to expand your children's interest, and encourage them to be part of a fun-filled, creative summer! They will take part in weekly specials if age-appropriate, spend time playing outside on the playground, and inside doing all sorts of creative activities. They can look forward to arts and crafts, playing ball, listening to music, dancing, and time on the computer. Let your little one explore their environment and have lots of fun, too, at EEC Inc! EnrichmentChildren in Pre-School through Kindergarten are involved in enrichment programs throughout the school year. These may include yoga, music, science and/or a language program. There is no additional cost for these programs. |
